Your Gutters Can Cause Water Damage!

3/1/2022 (Permalink)

Gutter full of leaves and debris Clean your gutters to avoid water damage.

We have officially entered to month of Spring – before long we will have that extra daylight time in the evenings to get out and start preparing your home for warmer weather. We associate Spring with cleaning – from windows to walls we are all ready to get our home clean after a long cold winter. But don’t neglect your gutters. You would be surprised what your gutters can fill up with in the winter months. Be sure to remove leaves and debris from your gutters on a regular basis.  Something as simple as a heavy rainfall that comes with Spring can get backed up and cause severe and unnecessary water damage when it has no way to drain from your roof! Clogged gutters and the weight from heavy rainfall can also rot the fascia boards and pull the gutter from the roof structure causing water to enter your home and damage your ceilings, walls and attic space. Overflowing gutters saturates the ground and forms pools of water that penetrate cracks in the concrete and deteriorate the foundation which can result in water damage to basement walls. If you experience any kind of water damage -  give us a call! We are here to help!
