Planting flowers in a flower bed Preparing the soil and planting spring flowers.

The warmer temperatures are moving in, and the weather is finally getting stable to make your yard beautiful for Spring! Mother Nature has certainly been throwing us some curve balls here lately, but we are getting closer to planting season here in the South!

So, what to plant and when to plant them? We have some tips to share to make your home look like spring has finally sprung!

  • Best planting time is early spring – that’s two to three weeks before the last frost has passed, and the soil has warmed up to 65 degrees Fahrenheit. Here in the South – after April 30th.
  • Prep the soil – remove leaves – weeds and debris in your planting area
  • Start your planting season in pots so you can move them under covered areas incase Mother Nature decides to throw you another curve ball of cold weather
  • When purchasing your flowers be sure to make of note of Full sun vs partial sun when planting
  • Choose plants that bloom early - all this hard work you deserve to enjoy the fruits of your labor as long as possible.

Happy Spring and Happy Planting
